Quotes From a Grateful Nation: Day Four

THE WAR'S END
TODAY THE GUNS ARE SILENT. A GREAT TRAGEDY HAS ENDED. A GREAT VICTORY HAS BEEN WON. THE SKIES NO LONGER RAIN DEATH - THE SEAS BEAR ONLY COMMERCE - MEN EVERYWHERE WALK UPRIGHT IN THE SUNLIGHT. THE ENTIRE WORLD IS QUIETLY AT PEACE.
General Douglas MacArthur

Just so you know, your blog was read from as far away as Chandler, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix. I have a Google alert for anything with Port Norris in it and it popped up today with news about the Fire Truck float and your blog.

You may think I'm a stranger, but I grew up in Port Norris and started attending Port Norris Baptist back in 1974 when I was a little girl. I only get back there a few times a year but I love to take my Mom-Mom to church - Alberta Bradway. I'm also the niece of George & Nancy Garrison. I may even have seen you there - usually on Easter Sunday and then two or three times throughout the year.

In any case, hope your Mom's skin cancer worries have abated and that you are enjoying your books.

Take care and I'm sure our paths will cross one day.

Sincerely,

Karlene Bailey Garrison
